Boys hurt too

i am absolutely terrified and horrified by this

that’s because with boys a chemical is released in their brain when they make the decision and boys are more likely to hang or shoot themselves, so it always gets done first try. Meanwhile, girls tend to cut and mostly take pills, a method easier to mess up and easier to be saved, thus more attempts and less effect.

Yeah, but boys hurt too

Also boys are a lot less likely to chicken out
Statistics say that more males go through with suicide attempts than females

You know how radfems get mad when guys “hijack a post”

Welp.

"released a chemical in the brain"

no.

androgens mask ‘classic’ depression symptoms, which leads to signs known as “male pattern” depression

http://www.professionalpsychiatry.com/depression.html

Male pattern depression can include signs seen infrequently in women:

  • Lower stress threshold
  • Aggressive behavior or difficulty controlling impulses
  • Irritability, restlessness, dissatisfaction
  • Anxiety, especially in the morning
  • Alcohol abuse or illegal drug use
  • Excessive exercise or work
  • Hyperactive behavior
  • Eating too little or too much
  • Antisocial behavior and/or pushing or testing social norms

This, by the by, is the cause of ‘the depression gap’. There actually aren’t more depressed women than men, it’s just that in men it presents as other disorders.

the other problem men and boys aren’t given the mental skills to impart their needs, let alone expect them to be met. It would help if people started giving a shit.

This makes me very sad. Especially since when a boy/man gets sad and/or depressed they are told to “man up” and “get over it”, which ends up in them bottling up and suppressing all of their emotions, which can have devastating effects.

It’s a very sad thing to me that I feel so reluctant to reblog this out of fear that actual good friends of mine would consider it misogynistic or in any way dismissing of any women’s issues That I’m reluctant to talk about serious issues / heath discrepancies around those I otherwise respect simply because it’s about men.

Health issues are important. All of them.

Reblogging for men’s health, yo.

The Turkish company Pugedon has recently introduced a vending machine that’s an innovative way to help both the environment and our furry friends. It releases food for the city’s stray dogs and cats every time a plastic bottle is deposited, and it allows people to empty their water bottles for the animals as well.

This wonderful service operates at no charge to the city because the recycled plastic pays for the cost of food. So, with a little financial investment, the simple machines do a lot of good. They provide a steady source of sustenance to the animals, many of which rely on caring residents to regularly feed them. It also encourages people to make a habit of recycling and help conserve our environment for future generations.

Distressing Video Captures EXACTLY How Cops Treat Black People

I had to reblog this again because it just reduced me to tears.

As most of you know, I am an attorney. And I am an attorney licensed in Minnesota. This is the state where I took an oath last year to uphold state and federal laws and to protect the rights of the citizens.

It PAINS me to see this. To see these unjust cops who I for all intents & purposes, have to stand along side. When they are abusing EVERY SINGLE OUNCE of POWER. Minneapolis/St. Paul have BEEN a war zone. I’m ashamed. I’m embarrassed.

Not all officers are bad. Please don’t let that be the take away. But police brutality is VERY FUCKING REAL.

Watch this. If this doesn’t move you, if this doesn’t make you cry out in agony and want to change the world, I don’t know what will.

Lion, Tiger And Bear Raised Together After Rescue From Drug Dealer

Baloo the bear, Leo the lion, and Shere Khan the tiger were found locked in a basement undernourished and abused. The trio was originally owned by a drug dealer who didn’t properly care for them, leading to neglect and poor health. In 2001, Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary, a nonprofit that cares for animals in need, came to the rescue, and took them to Locust Grove, Georgia, where they were treated for injuries. They could have been separated but since at the moment of the rescue they were already friends, the sanctuary decided to keep them together. The abuse they suffered together as babies has bonded them into a loving brotherhood that does not recognize species.
